"MSysAccessObjects" or "MSysAccessStorage" is already opened exclusively

See Error with Multiple Users. HELP! by Chaplain Doug

Microsoft Access 2002.  I created a blank database using  the wizard. When the blank database (which resides on a network drive using a Novell server) is opened by a second  user, the following error comes up:

The table "MSysAccessObjects" is already opened exclusively by another user, or it is already open through the user interface and cannot be manipulated programmatically.

   or

The table "MSysAccessStorage" is already opened exclusively by another user, or it is already open through the user interface and cannot be manipulated programmatically.

It apparently is a problem between Access and Novell.  File caching was turned off and it now works.

These steps are only for Novell Clients on Windows 2000 PC’s.   They may work for other OSs.

Turn off Novell File Caching  as per Non-existent MsysAccessObjects Table

1.) Close all programs on your computer
2.) Right click on “My Network Places”
3.) Left click on Properties
4.) Right click on “Local Area Connection”
5.) Left click on Properties
6.) Double left click on “Novell Client for Windows”
7.) Left click on “Advanced Settings” tab
8.) Left click on “File Caching” in list box
9.) Change “Setting” drop down box to “Off”
10.) Left Click on OK
11.) Left Click on OK again
12.) Computer will re-boot and you must let it reboot for the settings to take effect..
